D

avid Dunn, is a 30 year old DJ from Middlesbrough in the north east of England. He has been Djing since 1992. His love of soulful/funky U.S House inspired mostly by legends such as Masters at Work and Derrick Carter and vocalists such as Jocelyn Brown and Barbara Tucker are what inspired him to purchase his first set of turntables at the tender age of 13. David's style still continues from soulful and uplifting house, right through to progressive and tech house often with a retro twist as he still craves those melodic piano breaks.

David has held residencies all over the north east of England from 1995 - 2006 including The Hillcarter (Hartlepool), The Cornerhouse (Hartlepool), The Dickens Inn (Middlesbrough), The Gold Room (Middlesbrough), Bar Zantia (Middlesbrough), Spensleys Emporium (Middlesbrough), Bar Paris (Hartlepool),  Time and Tide (Hartlepool),  The Emporium (Hartlepool) Indabar (Darlington).     He has also DJ'd internationally. In 2006 He ventured to Ayia Napa, Cyprus where he resided for 9 months. Over the summer of 2006 he held several residencies, most notably as main resident DJ for Hed Kandi @ Piazza, Playing weekly with DJs such as Rob Wilder, Paul Wilkins, David Dunne, Phil Faversham, John Jones and Jack McCord. He also played for Titanic, Hollywood Boulevard, Vanilla and Guru pre bars and was Co-Resident DJ alongside DJ Coxy at Legendary Club Bagleys, which held club nights including Bak2Napa, Purefunky, Peaches, Miss Moneypennys and Kinki Molinki, playing with house music legends such as Brandon Block and Graham Gold. He was also fortunate enough to be asked to headline at Graffiti's opening night, in Limassol. Following his return to the UK, he found sanctuary at Saturdays at the Onion @ The Purple Onion (where he first DJed alongside Reflect boys Nik and Matt Peverell) a superb venue that attracted guests such as Seamus Haji, The Hoxton Whores, Steve Mac, Curtis Zac and Kate Lawler to name but a few. After an eventful winter in 2006 David again returned to Cyprus mesmerising crowds with his unique style whilst donning the turntables and CDJ's. On His return to the UK in 2008, David was offered a residency at a new venue in Middlesbrough, Harveys. Alongside Brothers Nick and Matt Peverell he transformed Harveys into one of the most exciting venues in the North-East, sharing the turntables with DJs such as Dermot C, Jason Herd, John Fitz, K-Klass and many more.

He also played for one of Middlesbroughs biggest old skool house nights, the infamous Meltdown (on the night of his wedding reception!) In the summer of 2008 he travelled across the water again, this time to Ibiza where he played at several venues including Hush, Opium and Linekers alongside DJ’s such as DJ Da Sendri, JC and Sam Dungate.

In the summer of 2009 David headed this time for the south of Spain where he took on a summer residency at world renowned brand Linekers as well as residing at the one of the costas superclubs, Mangoes. He returned to Harveys (Middlesbrough) in the winter of 2009 and started his own new music brand with his wife called The Noise Boutique which launched its first successful club night, Pianode. A night dedicated to celebrating the best piano house tunes from the last 20 years. It was at this time that he was reunited with Reflect brothers Nick and Matt Peverell and soon became a Reflect DJ. He has already played alongside Nick Peverell for Reflect at the Medicine bar and at Harveys in Darlington and has recently accepted a summer residency in Ibiza.
